Adding to its collection of mob boss–inspired wallets, Ashland Leather’s Bugs Moran bifold features a sturdy construction made of Horween shell cordovan leather. Invented by the Chicago-based leather company, shell cordovan is the fibrous flat muscle (or shell) taken from the rear quarters of the horse’s hide, making it a rarer material that’s limited in quantity. The leather goes through an extensive process that includes tanning, stuffing, shaving, and polishing over the course of 6 months. It's highly regarded as one of the most durable leathers and sought after for its hand-finished color treatment. Each wallet's unique appearance comes from the shade of each individual piece of shell cordovan.
Note: At checkout, you'll have your choice of color: black, color #8, garnet (+ $10), or natural (+ $10).
In order to keep its slim profile, the bifold doesn’t have a bill slot, but it can still accommodate folded bills. There are four card slots, each able to hold up to three cards or cash. The wallet is finished with hand-burnished edges, bonded nylon thread stitching, and subtle embossed logos on the interior.
