Thanks. You got me a bit curious. Follow up questions. 1. May I ask how long Ashland has been in business? 2. What is the difference between Chromexcel and Shell Cordovan. Would the Chromexcel also last as long as they are less than half the price of the Shell Cordovan?
I do wish that yours had a center divider in the long bill section so that I can have one for cash and one for receipts.
MassDropFanNo problem!
1. Ashland has been making leather goods as a company for 3 years and individually before that.
2. Great, GREAT question. I get this one a lot so here is an article I wrote about it: http://www.ashlandleather.com/Articles.asp?ID=251
Simply put: Shell cordovan and Chromexcel have similar characteristics. They both have a refined ruggedness and my personal feeling is that Chromexcel has a more vintage, grandfather's wallet type quality. Shell cordovan is a bit more refined and will retain this look but also will develop more of a patina that is very characteristic of vegetable tanned leather.
