For $20 you don't get much in terms of variety, if you just want to get a general feel of the different colors of switches it will work for you. But if you really want to get a larger variety of manufacturers to hone into the specific brand get the Super Switch Tester which has the benefit of more switches for "cheaper" ($1 per switch in this pack vs 0.8 per switch) along with an acrylic base and keycaps on top of each switch.
Unfortunately the only way to get a sample of Drops switches (Halo switches, Holy Panda X, and Drop + INVYR Holy Panda) before you buy the, but spending $20 just to test those 4 are not worth it.
Would very much like it if these came with some kind of block to install the switches in to easily get a feel with them, ended up using a block that I had from other purchases. Very useful for finding what you do and don't like though.
Nice switch pack if you want to try some rarer and/or drop exclusive switches. Unfortunately I already had the included cherry and gateron ones in another switch pack. They came in a nice plastic tray in a cardboard box which I can reuse for some other switches since I put the switches in a switch tester.
I'm new to the mechanical keyboard worlds and the vast amount of switches available has become overwhelming. Having a kit like this with a variety of linear, tactile and clicky has helped me narrow it down to what I want in a mechanical keyboard. Only thing lacking is some soft of case, as it comes in a plastic tray. A good start to get into the world of custom mechanical keyboards.
It offers great variety for the someone starting out and who doesn't know what the different switches are between linear, tactile and clicky. It is also helpful when you are trying to figure out what each of these sound like in a board in various rows. if offers the experience of testing generic switches without breaking the bank.
I think this is a pretty good choice of switches for people to try out.
Anything to help people make informed choices is good in my opinion.
Only thing I don't like is that you'll need to come back to this page to checkout what all the switches are.
Including a small infographic in the package would have been nice.
Also, I had to use the cherry brown as a replacement while fixing my friend's keyboard so you know they work.
