I ordered these switches to test Cherry switches vs my already large collection of clones and custom switches. For that reason alone, these were a good value, even though I'll never use them in a keyboard other than for sound profile testing.
I think this is an ok way start deciding what kind of feel you want initially. The only problem that's tricky is, switches feel very different by themselves versus being on a board. Once you get a feel you like, you might have to get a handful of those switches to test together to get a real sense of your typing experience. You get a sense of the actuation force better in a fuller context. Good luck, happy building!
This set features a diverse collection of linear, tactile, and clicky mechanical switches. It gave me a great perspective on what is currently available commercially, and allowed me to discover that I prefer clicky switches. I also discovered Kailh BOX switches, which I love.
20$ is a pretty heavy price tag for these few, and frankly quite standard, switches.
For this price the presentation could be better.
Anyways, quite interesting :)
