Pros - Not an expert, but imho, pairing this with the right iem makes hell a lot of a difference. with the Lyra ii, I hear some sibilance and have to apply eq (which still doesn't take away all the ssssss - probably cause i don't really know how to set it manually and just clumsily rely on google) although everything else, especially the bass and vocals are good. With the se846 though, everything sounds considerably better and the bass really shines. Personally, I prefer this combination to the DX90 which is why I have sold the Dx90. It also sounds great with the noble 6 (old version). *all through unbalanced se output* Cons - UI is a bit slow but works well enough and the sound quality more than makes up for it. A little disappointed that the ak doesn't seem to work well when connected to my laptop and headphones amplifier in line out dac mode as music is quite frequently interrupted by a helicopter looking for a suitable landing spot. Not sure what causes it but this does not happen when other dacs are used in similar fashion or when I use it as DAP. This is a major con to me as the dap can't run spotify, hence the need to be connected to my laptop.
