Astell&Kern AK100 II & AK240 DAPs

The successor to Astell&Kern’s popular AK100, the AK100 II features a Cirrus Logic CS4398 DAC chip and a dedicated HiFi amplifier that can drive any IEM and efficient headphones. The AK100 II comes with two ports: a standard unbalanced 3.5mm port and a 2.5mm balanced port for increased channel separation and clarity. This portable player supports high-resolution audio file formats up to 24bit/192kHz, as well as playback of DSD up to 5.6MHz, which is converted to PCM (Pulse Code Modulation). The AK100 II is Wi-Fi enabled, allowing you to stream music wirelessly from a file storage device, like an NAS drive or computer, and use the streaming service Tidal, which is integrated into the player. Along with delivering great sound on the go, the AK100 II can be used as a standalone DAC with your PC or MAC.

The durable aluminum body features an AMOLED touchscreen with simple, intuitive navigation to access your favorite artists, albums, and songs—plus a stepped-attenuator for precise volume control. The AK100 II has 64GB of built-in memory and an additional microSD card slot for expandable memory of up to 256GB additional. With 6 to 8 hours of battery life between charges, it’s the perfect companion for long flights, daily commutes and listening sessions wherever you want them.

The premium, feature-packed Astell&Kern AK240 builds on the success of the AK100 II portable player with dual Cirrus Logic CS4398 DACs for improved left and right channel separation and 256GB of internal memory—that’s about 2,500 four-minute songs. The AK240 also has a microSD card slot capable of expanding an additional 256GB to double its memory. It supports native DSD playback without converting to PCM, which allows for greater clarity, instrumental separation, and detail with little or no distortion. The player supports virtually any digital audio file up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution, as well as double-rate DSD. It can stream files wirelessly or be used as a USB DAC for your MAC or PC.
