My AK240 conked out after 3 years of very minimal use. It would no longer power up. There is virtually no technical support available from A & K . I did find a company that services A & K products in California; the repair will be quite expensive for what will probably be a battery replacement, if the product is indeed reparable. I reached out to Drop for advice on how to get the product serviced somewhere in the western hemisphere, & 10 days later got an email which basically defined the term "limited warranty," without a word of practical advice. In any case, I am not all that sad to see the AK240 die. I think that it is a very over-rated, over-priced, and poorly designed product with almost no available technical support. I have read other reviewers extolling its sound quality. To my musically sophisticated but non-audiophile ears, it sounded minimally better playing FLAC music fles than my late 80's ipod playing mp3 files. It also had a clunky user interface and very loose volume control Perhaps I simply got a lemon or a previously owned product, but I would not recommend this product to anyone based on my own experience. I would also recommend purchasing high end electronic devices from a retailer that stands behind its products.
