Let’s face it, a lot of us stare at screens all day, which can take a serious toll on the eyes over time. Backed by ASUS Ultra-Low Blue Light technology and flicker-free technology, this monitor features four blue-light filter settings that are easily accessed through the onscreen display to combat the perils of dry, sore eyes Read More
This is a basic NON GAMING monitor. 27" but only 1920x1080 and 60Hz default refresh rate. It's only selling point is the blue light stuff. If you have eye strain go get (new) glasses or see your eye doctor.
Okay, so quality aside...does this thing actually work? Like, better than f.lux and all that? I really didn't like the colors f.lux used, so I had to stop.
I get daily pressure headaches though from eye strain...like, really really bad some days, where I want to pop my eye out to relieve the pressure haha. I think its, in part, from not eating/sleeping/drinking water like I should, but I'm still definitely curious about this monitor.
not arguing here, but i wanna charm in and say that i suffer from horrible horrible eye fatigue as well and f.lux changed my life. i’ve been meaning to see an eye doctor, but i highly recommend giving it a try keeping it always on if this is a big issue for you as well. as for me, i’d be interested in this monitor however not having 144hz is a deal breaker for me mainly in the market for a gaming monitor
SeelenI don't know how well this specific implementation works, but I know that the more recent Samsung Eye Saver modes are pretty great for eye fatigue. I'm using a dual monitor setup with S24E450D's. As long as I take my normal breaks (go to the restroom every hour or so, brew more tea or grab water, etc), I can work through the day and be headache free by the end of the day.
If you plan to pair this monitor with something else, don't. Pairing monitors in different modes is a recipe for more eye strain. I've done it, and it bites.
You headaches sound like they could be sinus-related than eye-related. Flonase helps with that, along with Azelastine HCl (need a doctor's perscription for this one). Also, painkillers will help on days when you know you can't avoid screens, such as those last push days. Just don't make a habit of them.
Hope this helps!
