These are better than the stock ear pads that comes with the M50x. Thicker and more plush giving a nicer touch. Down side with this is that I find it itchy after prolonged use but not as sweaty as the stock pleather one.
Very soft and comfortable! I've had these for years and they're still doing just fine. The material on the bottom of my headband started to wear out before these have shown any real signs of wear.
Going on 4 years with these pads on my ath-m50x, one thing I can say is they've held up better than the stock pads which flaked off within a couple years. But for the price (I think I paid $25 here on drop) they are pretty underwhelming. They are not offensive in any way but nothing about them feels high quality. The padding and "velour" both feel cheap to me and I imagine you can find something that meets or beats the quality of these for a cheaper price. These are a $15 set of pads at most imo. For my ears they are also a bit small but this is common with the ath-m50x. All that said I have worn the crap out of these headphones and pads for many many hours of gaming and general pc use and I never felt like I couldn't stand them. Pictured is an unfiltered look at a 4 year old set of these pads that I've never cleaned (I know I know). I recently ordered a set of brainwavs prostock sheepskin pads so these will be getting retired.
I've spent 6-10 hours a day for the last two years in these earpads. They are supremely comfortable and I recomend them highly. They're a big improvement over the stock earpads, which get hot and sweaty after a couple of hours. The only downside is that the sound leakage in both directions is a little bit more than with the stock pleather pads, so their utility in noisy environments like planes and cars is diminished somewhat.
Original pads on my ATH-M50X headphones were ok but they got hot after a short period of time so I bought these to see if they would be a bit cooler. They do help a bit in that regard. Sound was largely unchanged.
I have larger than average ears and earlobes, and these ear pads don't have enough width or separation from the headphones, so the plastic parts rub on my ears.
