Rude. Did you not check the estimated shipping date?

Yeah, I checked it buddy. Every other drop I've been on has told me what's going on within a few hours of it ending. Even if it's a "hey we're delayed and we'll have an update by X/Y", every other drop has given an update about the status of the order. It's poor form to leave people hanging, and it makes this type of sale feel less legitimate to other people who might want to join. I understand the premise of drops taking a while to ship, but no response when people are asking for an update is rude. How do I ask friends to join a drop who aren't familiar with this type of sale when it's like "oh well you give them some money, it takes a while to ship, they don't really tell you what's going on until after they charge you, and even then... it's kind of just up to their discretion when they feel like telling you what's going on. Sometimes you give them money and it takes a few days for them to really tell you when they've placed an order."
I assumed nobody at Massdrop had talked to the vendor, because they didn't bother to update the drop participants. I thought they'd all taken the 4th of July weekend off and just hadn't bothered to place the order at all. I had no reason to believe otherwise. Making a comment on Twitter seems to have been the only thing that had made anyone take any kind of update. Who knows, maybe it's the reason they remembered to place the order to the vendor in the first place!
I wasn't the first person to ask for an update on this drop, and I wasn't the last. There were 3 of us. Lack of transparency undermines this entire model. I will certainly be thinking twice before making another purchase here. It's better peace of mind to order from a company who can send me a confirmation message on a successful order and for me pay $10 more than it is to have no information whatsoever for a solid 48 hours. Especially when multiple users are asking. You'll see that I gave them the benefit of the doubt for the first 48 hours before saying anything outside of the comments here.
It's not just this drop, this kind of thing seems to happen all over Massdrop. Honestly, I think it's a legitimate complaint. I don't think you need to call me names, and I think you're the one who's being rude.

Let me know when you've triggered down. Preferably a few micro-seconds after this reply!
... or else, I'll take it to social media where ones upon one of people will know about how much of a tortoise you are >:-(

Yakov, now who is being the rude one ? From my point of view Ben has all the right in the world to write what he wants, lack of update is not very ensuring about Massdrop. I have asked MassDrop couple of questions for which I did not receive an answer at all. So before you go rampage.. think about how a customer should receive real service and not wait 2-3 days before an update.
Cheers!

Here's the problem. Everything you are saying here is contradicting the truth. In every single update it says expect the next update by 'this date'. Secondly, what's the point of getting an update everyday, you'll just be receiving the exact same update several times in a row. Things take time to manufacture and ship. Rome wasn't built in one day.
And the manufacturing. I'm not sure about other drops but I know for this one, the vender manufactured the ear pads after the drop ended. That takes time, and for your information (because clearly you didn't receive the update), we did get an update telling us the order had been put in and that Audio-Technica worked through the July 4th weekend to finish manufacturing it. For you to make assumptions that Massdrop hadn't put in the orders by July 4this just messed up. If you had read all the updates before making your 'rant' post, maybe you would have noticed they do give updates and most of the assumptions you are making are false.
Now about the shipping issue. You try shipping 500 products internationally You think they can ship 500 some orders internationally in a couple of days?
You honestly need to just chill out a bit...

I was just asking for an update as to what had happened, since the drop had ended and there was radio silence.
I don't think you really read what was going on, as you've not realized that these aren't even made by Audio-Technica.
