If anyone who considers themselves an audiophile can confirm that these velour pads don't change the overall sound (highs/mids/lows) too much, I'll buy a pair for my friend and myself, as the stock pads really do get too sweaty even if the weather is cold.
I've had past experiences with non-pleather pads drastically reducing the sound quality, and would like to know if these also have the same issue. Thank you!
Going from stock pleather to velour earpads, I noticed a decrease in bass, decrease in noise isolation, and increase in comfort. With the decrease in bass, it actually makes the M50x a bit closer to neutral, but it's still clearly v-shaped. I don't think it changes the sound quality, but it does change the sound signature just a little bit. To give you a perspective of how much bass you lose, most people don't even notice it.
