I like the DT880 600Ohms. No opinion of DT990, though I heard it has piercing highs. Probably still better than M50x.
Some headphones may not have a "slot" on the back of their earcups to secure the flange that exists on these pads.

by the way, stupid question, but why don't these work for other headphones? if the circumference of the headphones is equal, wouldn't it be able to stretch the right way?
