Just want to contribute a small review. I bought my pair of headphones secondhand, so the original pads were honestly pretty gross when I got them and needed replacing. I was pretty used to velour pads at this point, my previous pair of headphones being the Superlux hd 681 EVO's which came with the velour option.
General assessment: If you've never tried velour pads before, then I would probably recommend making sure you like the feel of velour first, though I guess that kinda goes without saying. They do have the effect of reducing the seal around the ears, lessening the impact of the bass. Overall clarity, which I value a bit more than punchy bass, seemed unaffected to my ears. This reduced seal also has the effect of greater audio leakage, e.g. people standing next to you are going to be able to tell what you're listening to at even moderate volumes. For someone who keeps their on-ears at home, this wasn't an issue, but for those people who like to acessorize this may be a concern.
That being said, the quality of these earpads matches that of the headphones itself, and they make a snug fit on the m50's. I find these pads make the headphones comfortable for however long you want to listen to music: No more sweaty ears, and they drastically reduced the discomfort of wearing glasses with my headphones. I was extremely satisfied when I recieved these, and was willing to accept the small effect the pads have sonically for what I find to be greatly increased comfort.
