Here's the problem. Everything you are saying here is contradicting the truth. In every single update it says expect the next update by 'this date'. Secondly, what's the point of getting an update everyday, you'll just be receiving the exact same update several times in a row. Things take time to manufacture and ship. Rome wasn't built in one day.
And the manufacturing. I'm not sure about other drops but I know for this one, the vender manufactured the ear pads after the drop ended. That takes time, and for your information (because clearly you didn't receive the update), we did get an update telling us the order had been put in and that Audio-Technica worked through the July 4th weekend to finish manufacturing it. For you to make assumptions that Massdrop hadn't put in the orders by July 4this just messed up. If you had read all the updates before making your 'rant' post, maybe you would have noticed they do give updates and most of the assumptions you are making are false.
Now about the shipping issue. You try shipping 500 products internationally You think they can ship 500 some orders internationally in a couple of days?
You honestly need to just chill out a bit...

AznEyesI was just asking for an update as to what had happened, since the drop had ended and there was radio silence.
I don't think you really read what was going on, as you've not realized that these aren't even made by Audio-Technica.

10 days till it ships? wow. 1) you don't disclose the vendor 2) could've gotten these sooner and cheaper from ebay vendors. My first and last order through massdrop. Not worth it.

sweet discount and authorized dealer? You're regurgitating propaganda. Who's this authorized dealer on this product? If it isn't disclosed, then you have no idea if you're getting a "sweet discount" sheep.

etranIt is written in the description that the dealer is Sound Professional. As a comparison of prices, here's the Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/ATH-M50-PADS-VELVET-ATH-M50RD-ATH-M50WH-ATH-M50xBL-ATH-M50xWH/dp/B00F2ZM6CS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1456144331&sr=8-1&keywords=ath+m50x+velour+earpads Not a sweet discount?

Just pointing out that these earpads are no different than the stockpads when it comes to comfort... My ears usually hurts after 40 minutes of usage. If you're planning to spend on earpads for over $20 for your m50x, then I recommend you to get brainwavz hm5 Pleather pads, hm5 Velour pads, or hm5 Hybrid pads.

Just sharing my thoughts about this product. IF you're planning to buy this to look your M50x nice then go for it, but if you're looking for comfort then go check brainwavz hm5 earpads. I love Velour earpads, but this velour pad barely has any cushion inside. If you wear glasses, this velour earpads will hurt your ears real quick also. I have a picture of my M50x just so you can see the difference between this velour pads and HM5 earpads from brainwavz.

I mean to be fair, I am sacrificing for other qualities for myself. Everyone will buy a product for different of reasons. I do think M50x is a great headphone, but people are exaggerating about how good they are and I don't think they are worth the price. When I'm home, I use my other "better" headphones that has more comfort around my ears. I only use my M50x when I go out or travel and the only thing that bothered me about the m50x stock pads and this velour pads the most was the comfort around my ears.

KITTYI think they are overpriced and over hyped too. They aren't the best headphones ever if anything but I got it on sale for 117 which I think is a good price. I wouldn't pay full price for it.

Any chance these come in other colors? I've got the blue/Brown m50x and some brown velour pads would be amazing.

I personally would like a set of white ones to go with my M50xWH but $25 is my upper limit for buying them. I would go with black but if I buy black ones now then I won't be able to justify the white ones later.

I purchased these off of Amazon for $35, since I can return them for the simple reason of not liking them if I purchased it through amazon vs. Massdrop. I could have saved around $15 getting it from the drop last time but I didn't like the idea of it possibly meaning $20 down the drain if I didn't like them, especially since people said it changes the sound signature so much. Now that I've had them for 2 weeks, I can honestly say I don't mind having paid the extra 15 for them at all. They're so worth it! I attached an image of them below if you wanted to see. Paracord idea taken from @GoukiAkuma purely for aesthetic reasons but I guess it helps protect the pleather underneath as well. Skins from Dbrand.

First off, the comfort of these things are amazing. They were a bit difficult to put on but nothing that isn't doable. It probably also has something to do with it being my first time replacing ear pads. I almost never had an issue with the stock pads. I'd wear them for hours on end comfortably and without any pain. However, on random days, it would start to hurt my ears after like half an hour to an hour. This happened completely randomly and I could find no correlation as to why it happened on those very few days and not every other day where I wore them for even longer. Stock pads did make my ears very hot though especially during these very hot summer days. I'm glad I don't live in a hotter area because I hate the heat so much. With these earpads, I can wear them for hours and forget they're even there and they don't make my ears so hot!
I listened to some tracks standing right next to my sister. I listen to music at an average to above average volume level (9-10 ticks out of 15 on a Samsung Galaxy S8, around the 75% point on the volume line). She was unable to hear anything so as far as sound leakage goes for avg listening levels, you won't have any issues. At around 13 ticks, there is enough sound leakage for someone next to you to hear it in a very quiet area. My room with my AC on is enough to muffle it out so outside or on a train it would be difficult to hear. At 14 and 15 ticks, it's pretty significant although with a tight seal around your ears you might be able to get away with it except for someone standing right next to you outside or on a train.
I've seen a lot of people complain about the sound signature completely changing and becoming garbage, as well as a lot of people who say the M50x's are just bad in general lol. These are my first pair of headphones so I will obviously disagree with that as it's the best I've heard, so far, and it was the first one from my jump out of shitty $10 store earbuds. And I'd like to note that I am by no means a hardcore audiophile and have just gotten into the game but, in my honest opinion, these change the sound signature soooo little I can barely tell and definitely cannot complain for benefits I receive instead. The bass is just ever so slightly less punchy and that's about all I can notice. It's definitely nothing game-changing and not something you shouldn't consider these for.
TL;DR - Comfy, minimal sound leakage, didn't notice sound signature change besides ever so slightly less bass impact.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask and I'll try my best to answer them.

For those of us who are stuck at "shipping label created" surely we must have something in common...
Has anyone received their black earpads? Maybe those haven't shipped yet or are delayed or something.

Great news group! We placed the order for the ATH-M50x Velour Earpads shortly after the drop ended.
Given the high volume of this drop, our vendor worked over the holiday weekend to package all the orders. Everything is ready to go and will be shipped out tomorrow!
Expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 7/9 or sooner if something comes up.
