QuattroRocketHey @Jarrod,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention! Because of your diligence, we were able to negotiate more aggressively and drop the shipping prices for everyone in the group to $80. And people that have already joined the group buy will also have the shipping price adjusted once the group buy is completed.
Keep in mind that JC Sportline is a China based company, and that's where the grill will be manufactured and shipped from.
Now, depending on the volume that we do, we can save a bit of money on shipping by using sea freight to have all the grills shipped from JC Sportline to our fulfillment facility in California, and we can repack and reship the grills to individual members participating in the group buy. By doing this, at 30 units sold, we can reduce the shipping price by $15, and at 100 units sold, we can reduce the shipping price by up to $35.
Having said that, sea freight does add approximately 4-5 weeks to the fulfillment time, and sometimes much longer depending on the time it takes for the shipment to clear custom. And that's why we decided that air freight shipment is the way to go based on the type of product that it is, shipping time difference, and the shipping price difference.
