A buyer complained that he tried multiple 2.5 to 3.5mm converters and they all failed to output both audio channels. Is that a normal problem? I’ve never owned a 2.5mm headphone cable before.

As a cable maker, I would strongly advise against any cable with rubber insulation. They grow stiff a lot faster than PVC or PE plastic.

ynotproductionzIf you need long cables, you will have to build them yourself or get a custom commission. Hakugei sells raw wires and parts that you can use to build your own cables. I started with hakugei but quickly moved on because their wires are quite expensive.
