I bought 2 pairs of Audio Engine speakers for my sons. Neither pair lasted for more than 2 years. I would not recommend anything Audio Engine.

Odd, I've had my a5s for about 5 years now and they still work fine, no issues.

Had my a2+'s 5 years now and they are going strong, moved between multiple houses and lasted me through uni and have had a hammer dropper on them. Would really rate them highly for their quality.

Had a pair of the active version of these that only lasted a year. Got some replacements which again died after about 11 months. They sounded ok, however the death of them got me into other brands that have turned out to be much better value.

Did you send them back under warranty? Audioengine will replace anything within the 3 year warranty period.

Same here. Don't suppose you have any recommendations? Mine died recently and I'm looking for alternatives!

I have a pair of P4s, which I've had for years with no issue (at least 4 years, but pretty sure it's 5). These are passive speakers, not the internally amped ones, which means they won't die unless you either drive them too hard or there's something incredibly wrong with the crossover. This is true of most passive speakers though.
