Optimize Your Phono Stage

No matter how you’re listening to your turntable, you need a phono preamplifier (or “phono stage”) to amplify your signal and equalize it. From industry-leader Audio-Technica, the AT-PEQ30 phono equalizer gives you the gain you need—and only the sounds you want. That’s because it’s equipped with high-quality FET inputs to maintain a low-noise signal when incorporated with a negative feedback-type phono equalizer circuit. Further reducing noise, an all-metal enclosure provides isolation from radio and electronic interference. Inside, precision components provide excellent RIAA response, equalizing records for maximum transparency. Featuring selectable MM and MC inputs with fixed gain and impedance, the AT-PEQ30 is compatible with a wide range of moving magnet and moving coil cartridges.

Audio-Technica: Unmatched Turntable Engineering

In 1962, during vinyl’s first reign as the world’s favorite audio format, Audio-Technica released its AT-1 and AT-3 MM stereo phono cartridges. These products would mark the company’s start to over half a century of innovations across the audio industry. More and more releases followed, including an elliptical diamond stylus, a VM phono cartridge, and many well-received turntables—most notably the AT-LPW40WN. We carry Audio-Technica products for the same reason that countless professional musicians, engineers, and vinyl listeners use them. In the audio world, there is no higher benchmark of quality.

It's called an "equalizer" because it contains RIAA equalization circuitry that deals with the type of signal generated by magnetic cartridges and the boost / cut required by the RIAA phono...Read More
