Hello,
I am using my AT-PHA100 dac/amp since I received it last December with my computer (W10 drivers) without any problems mainly alac.files but I tried to use it with my iPhone 8 or my iPod Classic and I cannot use it, there a like a noise and no music at all. I would to know what is the problem? I use the Analog in to connect it with my iPod Classic but not possible. For mt iPhone 8, I should find an Apple lightning to jack 3,5 mm cable to use it. For the time being I tried to use the Apple lightning to jack 3,5mm adaptator that I connect between the jack 3,5mm cable of the AT-PHA100 and my iPhone 8.
Is it worth buying the Apple lightning to jack 3,5 mm cable ?
What I am doing now is to charge the battery of the AT-PHA100 just to be sure that it is not a battery problem? I you have any idea or if someone is using the AT-PHA100 with iPhone 8 with lightning or iPod Classic ?
Thanks and take care of you.
philazHello,
well, my problème is d’ombre, it is just a battent problem! I mande the test d’urine the week-end, I charged the battery of the AT-PHA100 and it is working well now! I think that my iPhone cannot handle it when the battery of the AT-PHA100 is low!
ArjestinB&H lists the same number. It might just refer to THD under maximum output power. Well, that's possible under that level of output for a headphone amp, which isn't designed to drive high impedance input load of audio analyzers (likely in mega ohms range).
However, THD measurement yields a relative number and is usually measured under 2Vac output. If output is not the same, THD is not comparable. This amp is a bit weak and its max output is just close to 1Vac across 16-300 ohm load, so it's data isn't that beautiful partialy because of lowered output power. Audio analyzers will have a fixed input noise level, if feed lower signals into it, measured THD will be higher (ratio of signal-to-noise the analyzer sees is lower).
But for use case, even 1mW is going to be crazy loud with high sensitivity earbuds, that's just a small fraction of its maximum output power.
XnightcrawlTrue. AT is always playing in its small playground. Most of its products aren't making good partners outside its own brand. But if one uses AT earbuds, I think this is a good choice.
Hello,
Happy New Year!
Just received mine yesterday and charged the battery during the night. Trying to get the W10 driver and install it on my computer.
I will have a listen tonight wth my iPhone (.alac files).
Don't worry about battery life because as a dac it lasts a whopping six hours. Is the hamster running in the wheel that runs this thing a union member who can't work more than six hours without a shit ton of mandated breaks?
They present six hours as if it's a selling point when the reality is that it makes this device a joke.
Specs are feeble, tech is old, what a deal, all for only $200! AT must have found some of these in a warehouse corner collecting dust somewhere. Take your money and spend it on a Schiit, or something else please!
