Powerful Acoustics From Rare Cherry Wood
A truly immersive listening experience is hard to find—and so is the wood from the rare Asada Zakura Japanese cherry tree. Using one to create the other, Audio-Technica has unveiled the ATH-AWAS: a pair of headphones housed in striking red Asada Zakura wood to suppress unwanted resonance for clear, natural acoustics. Inside each earcup, Audio-Technica’s 53-millimeter drivers feature a powerful magnetic circuitry, integrated pure-iron yoke, DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating, and 6N-OFC material to precisely articulate the entire frequency spectrum. A proprietary Double Air Damping System also divides the housing structure into two acoustic chambers for smooth, accurate bass response. On the exterior, a lightweight magnesium alloy headband and synthetic leather earcups ensure comfort, while Audio Designed Detachable Coaxial jacks create a secure connection.
