Does this work with Airplay?

Not on their own. They are really good Bluetooth speakers (aptX 5.0) that produce cd-quality audio over BT but you'd have to have them connected to an Apple device like a Mac or AppleTV to be able to AirPlay something to them.

The description mentions the option of hooking up a subwoofer, but I don't see a sub out. What would be the recommended way to hook up a sub in this case?

They have their own built in amp, so they are not passive speakers.

is this recommended for monitoring audio production? im using sennheiser hd650 and wonder if it complements well withthis speaker.

i do not know why i added what headphones i use but i wonder if it shud also play a factoe in choosing a monitoring speaker?... hmm kinda confused.
