These aren't great with the Q701 compared to my desktop amp. If your onboard sound really sucks, this will be an improvement. (Spoiler alert: most onboard sound sucks.)
But for about the same price you can get a Schiit Modi/Vali stack, which should sound better.
The main advantage this has to a desktop setup is the size/portability. I use mine at work where I'm not doing much in the way of critical listening. At home? Desktop setup for sure.
This isn't bad, but it just doesn't have the juice to properly drive the Q701; you can get something for the same price that will drive them well...
