This kind of looks like a rebranded SMSL Sanskrit? Or some other stick DAC/Amp? Is this essentially from a similar source but branded differently and maybe with newer connectors?
dom1234China?
Why would you think that?
No, these are manufactured and assembled by elves in the North Pole, and then shipped directly to you door via flying reindeer.
And--if you've been good, they sometimes include a little candy cane in the box too.
My iPhone has stopped recognizing this device when plugged in with the lightning cable. It will work when connected through a camera connection kit with USB but that adds so much bulk and drains the phone power much faster. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
jzkatzIf you have a newer iPhone, then the older lightning cable that's not apple stops working. I had a same issue with my wife's phone, which we bought packs of lightning cable off Amazon and they wouldn't work
This thing is faulty keeps on disconnecting at the slightest movement. Using on samsung s9+ usb c. Should have listened to people's warning and give it a miss. Dont buy them.
There is a program to upgrade the firmware on the beam on the audirect site but I cannot download it for some reason. Does anyone have this firmware updating program ? If so please send me link to download it
I am using the Beam with Master & Dynamic MH40 with Android and different laptops and have to say I am pleased with the sound. I personally could not make out any coloring and it is a big improvement above my inbuilt smartphone/laptop DAC and I could not make out any flaws compared to a big expensive amp/DAC (given my headphones only have 32 Ohm). I'm listening mainly to Trance and Drum&Bass and could not make out any lack in bass. For the price, my preference and use case I am fully pleased!
