LamTSounds like you will soon be able to give us your opinion.
I too have purchased both, but have yet to receive the Aune. The Aune tube DAC has been reviewed well on Head-Fi so I wanted to experiment with it and hear differences various tubes might make. Technically the Audioengine D1 DAC should be better because it can handle up to 192kHz input data rate; the Aune top end is at 96kHz. I also have a Fiio E17 ALPEN which was a huge improvement and a favorite for its portability, but I must say the Audioengine is currently my favorite for sound, this might change once I receive the Aune.

eeagle192khz is highly debatable as anything anyone can ever hear or use. It's a higher khz number and I think that's what makes it more desirable to people. I'm not raining on you or anything. Just saying that just because the D1 goes to 192khz doesn't mean it'll sound better. I'll bet some dollars that it does though. It's entire purpose is to be a DAC whereas with the T1 you're paying for all other other engineering and components. I'd bet the D1 has some advantages over the T1 though the tube swapping thing is both addictive and useful.
