Should I expect taxes to be payed when receiving this item? I live in Hungary (EU) and here I have to pay taxes if an item I bought from a webshop costs more than 40 euros.
What is the experience of other European buyers?
I participated in the last drop. It was shipped on the 20th of December 2013. It just came today with the mail. But I already got my money back from Massdrop because it just took way too long. I refused the package. I bought another one from eBay and it was sent to me from the UK with DPD, so no customs which was really great! It only took 3 days for the package to get to Germany.
But should I expect taxes if I buy it from Massdrop?
Yes, you should. It comes from the US. I guess you can check it on the customs homepage of your country. For me it would be about 20€.
For me if the value is under 150€, I don't have to pay customs, but I have to pay 27% sales tax (yepp, thats how much we have here as sales tax in Hungary) so I guess it won't be as terrible as I expected it to be
Wow, 27% is tough.
I only have to pay 20% VAT in Bulgaria (with the shipping also being taxed), and I believe about 2% (at least it was 2% on the HD650) in other taxes.
I'm not sure if shipping will get taxed but I don't think it will. But I agree, 27% is still a lot
