Would be awesome if we had some more transparency about how things are doing, considering every one of us paid over $100 into this buy. I don't mind waiting, as long as I know where I stand. Is it a month we need to wait? Two months? As much as the savings are great, I'd potentially prefer to pay a bit more and get it sooner. If I knew it would be such a long wait I'd probably not participate in the purchase.

shlomoidI think all we really needed was some up-front knowledge of exactly what Massdrop is and how it works. Something like "This is a group buy, which means that orders don't ship immediately, since we have to order en masse from the manufacturer. Often manufacturers and distributors are overseas, and orders may take up to 6 weeks to ship. If you're not OK with this, don't buy into the group." It may make fewer people buy in, but it would be honest, and I think that's more important both for simple principle and also for the sustainability of the site and community. As it is, I feel like, simply since I didn't have prior knowledge (or a deep understanding, rather) of the concept of "group buys" that I've been jipped and misdirected about the time to fulfillment. If I had known how this worked, I would have given it some thought, and at least my expectations would be correct (all too important in sales). That's the problem here: misaligned expectations. They need to be made clearer before purchase.

triswebYeah, I agree. This is what doctors call "adjusting expectations". What I want is more transparency, so you'll know what to expect. There are many sites like Woot and whatnot that have huge buys in place — but deliver fast. Overall, the net result is I am not having an entirely positive experience, and hesitant to recommend the site to friends, which is a shame.

shlomoidWe're all spoiled by the age of the Amazon Prime :) I'm right there with you -- this is my first time doing a group buy and I'm doing my best to stay patient. The new headphones I ordered to go with this has been here for a while now (burn-in time!) and I'm one of those guys constantly pressing f5 on this page! But this delayed shipping makes perfect logical sense, and it's kind of on us to do the necessary research about all this before committing to the group buy, and the information was always available in the FAQ. It sucks that we won't have our shiny new amps for a while, and that really is a shame, but that's not Massdrop's fault at all. Right?

ahn_anonExactly. People should calm down a little just wait. Complaining won't do anything to get their amps faster and will just fuel the fire.
