I am greatly enjoying this DAC (now that I found the tubes!) but honestly without A/Bing I dunno if the whole thing is just psychosomatic tricks. I already have a pretty good DAC (hand-made DAC WOW from here:

actually, this could be a good candidate for another drop...)
so I'll have to try to figure out how to do a scientific comparison of the two. Maybe with two instances of foobar or something, each controlled remotely...blegh

bilditup1Yeah that would be an interesting comparison. Maybe a Y cable so that your headphones will plug into two different sources and then get Windows to switch between outputs.
I have the DAC Destroyer but upgraded to the Schiit Modi instead of going up the Hotaudio chain.
Though, changing tubes is going to change the sound output so from a pure utility standpoint, it kills the DAC WOW. Definitely a lot of tube options to roll.
