I just received my Aune an hour ago, and it sounds garbled and distorted when playing through my computer. I haven't yet tried playing through another source, but I have tried several headphones and cables. The sound is so overdriven and low quality that there must be a problem with either the amp or the DAC. Very disappointed. Does anyone know where to go from here? Is it a problem with the tube? If so, can I get a replacement?

KnowabilityI thought mine was like that too, until I played with the gain settings.

KnowabilityCould be the tube. There are plenty of replacements available.
Garbled and distorted isn't something I've seen described before. Try isolating the issue between the DAC and the amp section by using the rca line in which will bypass the tube/DAC.
Try different quality settings such as 24/96 or 16/48 in the sound playback devices console in Windows. Also make sure that it's set as the default sound output device.
Have you tried pulling and re-seating the tube? Check the pins for obvious damage or fouling. These are brand new production tubes so the pins should be spotless.
Search eBay for 6DJ8 tubes for a replacement. However, it should obviously work great out of the box. I'd also start a conversation with Aune about the issue by emailing them and explaining the issue and steps taken to resolve it.

Oh and another thing! Set the gain to +0 or +10. See if that makes a difference.

AdamaThanks so much for your help! I changed quality settings and messed around with some internal audio and fixed the problem. Completely satisfied by the amp now. Surprised at how well it drives my headphones, even at 600Ω impedance.
