I'm having an issue where, after some time of being on, the sound gets some artifacts in it, like pops and static. Here is a sample (recorded from headphones) of OSX's error sound repeated. You can hear the "tearing" in the "bad" recording. This happens on multiple machines with different headphones. The only solution is to power cycle, and I've already tried to reseat the tube.

Good:
http://tinyurl.com/lhpmagp

Bad:
http://tinyurl.com/lftsj6z

I'm about to swap tubes with a friend who has the same unit as a test, but has anyone else encountered this issue?

jedcredThis sounds like another USB issue or possibly a system output settings issue. It does seem more like an issue with the unit that might require an RMA though. :(
Because it's happening on multiple machines, that's not so good.

AdamaI just got my Mullard tube in and it feels like im listening to the Aune T1 for the first time again I wasn't a strong believer in rolling tubes, but OMG I am so happy. Have you rolled any tubes yet?

NguyenAwesome!
I haven't heard a Mullard tube yet. I have one that says "GT BRITAIN" on it but it's a G.E. tube with G.E. manufacturing codes on it. It's a very odd tube because it also has gold pins which were specific to Amperex, Mullard, Siemens and Telefunken. G.E. never made the tube type that I have!

There's a lot to learn about what to look for. There are a lot of "relabeled" tubes out there that are made by the big manufacturers of their time. Companies like Ultron, Zaerix, Haltron, Adzam, RFT and others were just companies that would buy huge lots of tubes from anywhere they could get them and then relabel them and repackage them with their own branding.

I'd suggest the Amerex 6DJ8 Orange Globe and Voskhod 6N23P "rocket logo". I really like the latter because they sound good to my ears and they're cheap.
Check the Head-Fi thread on the T1. There are some people there with a lot more experience who've really done some work describing and recommending tubes for this amp.

AdamaIt's here. I paid a small fortune in duties to benefit the glorious people's republic of Europe, but it sounds pretty good. I am a happy man!
I'd also like to second the e-hug to @Adama for his infernal wisdom in this thread.
