Ooof- April 21st a long time to wait.
Aune is going to be super busy making all these units... they are also very hit/miss on quality control as it is. Hopefully things have improved!
Hit and miss huh, would I be better of getting these off amazon for faster service should anything go bad?
I guess it really depends on the retailer... I'm not entirely sure how Amazon works for returns/repairs, but the best situation would be a replacement from a retailer in the US who already has stock. Not sure if Massdrop would be able to do a swap if the unit had issues, or if they'd get you to contact Candy at Aune... I suspect Aune will be super busy for the next month or two. You'd also be shipping to China, unless they have someone established in the US to handle that... Honestly Aune is fairly responsive with communication, but at one point, it seemed like 10% of the units had issues.
I would suspect the QA/QC is getting better on these units... Aune is getting into some "supposed" higher-end products (Check out the S16!!) Not to say this DAC isn't high end... with some upgrading and a great tube, it sounds superb. It would really be beneficial for Aune to pay closer attention to their products before they go out the door.
how would one go about upgrading this? Would it require voiding the warranty on it to do so? Cause at the moment my set up is good enough for me but I would just like to know if it is a worth investment to make to pair this up with the q701 and swan m10.
Edit: Okay read up on it and it would require replacing capacitors which would void the warranty. I guess I just need to decide whether I need to upgrade my GPU(r9 280x) or sound.
