metalgeraI wouldn't buy a tube amp unless you already own an amazing solid state. If you own a basic solid state, get the x1s to upgrade. If you have an amazing solid state, get the dark voice. I'm in the same exact boat as you and went with the x1s. That will keep me satisfied for awhile.

Dr.Tyler^this, especially if you don’t have 300+ohm cans. I wish that I would’ve gotten a decent solid state before tube. I’m going to get the X1S as a SS DAC/amp and run the line out to either the Bottlehead Crack or Cavalli CTH. Then I can switch easily and have a DAC there too. Both seem to be readily available on Amazon, but the X1S is a more significant cost savings on Massdrop vs DV right now.

metalgeraI started out with the Darkvoice and the 6XX and I have no regrets. I love it.
