Product Description
As powerful as it is compact, the Aurender Flow DAC/amp pumps out an impressive 380 mW at 32 ohms. The high-end specs are headlined by an ESS9018K2M DAC chip and an mSATA slot for up to 1 TB of additional music storage Read More
I'm not familiar with devices that have mSATA storage. Does this mean that it has an internal slot into which you can plug an mSata card (and that's what the Vessel screwdriver is for?)?
The upside is that you can keep all your songs with the DAC. The possible down side is that the USB cable is sending data up to the player from the mSATA drive while simultaneously sending data back down the cable to the DAC.
It doesn't say it's a DAP but why the mSATA if it's not? Does it play directly from the drive or what is the purpose of it? I don't completely understand when or where this would be useful.
This is a not DAP device. The mSATA drive shows up as a storage device when plugged in, which is a separate interface to the audio device. You can access the storage device, including formatting it to different file types, and it can be used to store anything from media files to other digital files.
Is there a way to get windows or ios to recognize the device? I can only use the digital optical input. Also, has anyone gotten it to work with Android? Am I missing something? TIA.
Do you need to buy mSATA storage for device to function? If there is storage for music files that comes with the device as sold, how big is the on-board storage?
