A great find for vintage pen collectors, these Aurora fountain pens are new old stock from the 1970s Hastil Collection. The Hastil model was designed in 1970 by Italian architect Marco Zanuso, with a cylindrical body made from a single block of steel and an innovative ink-filling system called the Idrograph. The pen was so acclaimed for its unique design, in fact, that it is part of the permanent collection in the Industrial Design Department of the Museum of Modern Art.
Note: At checkout, choose matte black or fired turtle lacquer. Every pen is factory sealed, never used, and new in box. However, because they were manufactured in 1970, the included ink cartridges will most likely be dry.
Italian for “dawn,” Aurora was founded in Florence at the end of the First World War. Indeed, it was the dawn of a new era for battle-weary Italy. That was 1919. Today, the company still occupies the factory it was founded in. And while much has changed over the last 99 years, the quality of Aurora’s pens has not.
