Ok the big question here, and THIS is usually the difference between the cheap adapters you find on eBay and Amazon, does this unit have an auto-off function. Most cheap adapters do not turn off and are constantly draining your battery to power the device. The better ones that usually cost in the $100 dollar range have auto off functions that turn off the device after disconnecting or the car is turned off for a certain amount of time.
Be advised if you leave one of those cheap adapters in your car they will drain your battery and if you leave one constantly connected and leave your car for a few days you will find a dead battery. The way this thing is advertised it sounds like this particular one is meant to be kept connected at all times, which if it doesn't have an auto-off feature, would be a dumb idea.
So that's the question, does this unit have an auto-power off function. If so, I would say this is a decent drop at this price.
