Wondering if I can wear these Hawaiian print shorts with any of my extant Hawaiian print shirts? Or should I just play it safe, and wear them with my Seattle grunge-scene, plaid flannel shirts instead?

RayFHi Ray, I'll answer like you're seriously asking about this. Matching top and bottoms in the same fabric, specially in novelty / all-over prints like Hawaiian shirt fabric is actually pretty trendy (has been for a few years now) and looks rather good. It's usually called a 'set-up' and it's only when both shorts/pants and shirt match exactly (same exact fabric). Otherwise, I think these would look great with a solid color short-sleeve button down shirt or a simple tee (graphic or not). They're great for lounging around or vacationing.

TomasVOh--how presumptuous of you to assume I wasn't serious!
Long before you were born, and back when I was Youngmen's Specialty Retail; I had several of the "set ups" you refer too. Of corse back then, we just refereed to them as an outfit. So much so, that I actually had one (don't recall the vendor off hand) that actually sold a matching pair of printed canvas deck shoes (similar, but less industrial looking than a pair of Vans) that matched the shirt and shorts to a tee. That outfit was done in muted taupes and pinks, I can assure you, I looked mighty grand in that getup!
