Product Description
While it may look like something out of a 1950s office, the Azio Retro Classic mechanical keyboard is anything but stuck in the past. Outfitted with handcrafted keycaps with a metallic trim, this retro-style keyboard looks as good in the office as it does in the game room Read More

Got my Elwood model (the one with a walnut faceplate) with bluetooth and I love it! You can switch between mac and PC modes (and keycaps!), and between bluetooth and wired with a high quality braided USB-C type cable. Was able to connect to my Samsung Galaxy S7 via bluetooth no problem. The Kailh switches are excellent, though I do wish they were MX compatible. The keycaps are your standard shine-through ABS caps, the only special thing being they're typewriter-shaped, so be wary that grease will make them ugly pretty quick, like any ABS caps would. The anodized metal border and brushed metal nameplate are really nice touches. The whole thing weighs quite a bit and feels VERY solid. One thing to note, is the the faceplate is wooden, but a veneer, not a solid piece of wood, and it doesn't really feel like it has a finish on it. We'd best keep it away from any sort of moisture, as we would with pretty much any keyboard. ;) One last thing, the typing height is high because of the keyboard feet. So far it's been just fine for me, but some may want a wristwrest. Finally, I was worried about having to get used to the round keycaps but it ended up not being a problem at all. Took me but 30 seconds to get it down and type slightly faster than I do on other keyboards

But it looks so pretty
This keyboard is an absolute bitch to type on. I love it dearly, but it is a total pain in the ass.

Very sturdy and solid, with an excellent type-feel from the keys-- just the right amount of resistance to keep me clickity-clacking at a quick pace. It's a little loud - even for a mechanical keyboard - but for me, that just makes it all the more satisfying because it really is reminiscent of a typewriter in feel as well as aesthetic. It hardly took me a day to transition to the circular keys from regular squared ones. Some might want to use a wristboard with it because at its lowest adjustable setting, it still sits higher than most keyboards, but I and anyone else that's used mine have been fine without the additional wrist support (and I use it pretty much all day). Ultimately, I can't say enough about how much I like this keyboard-- zero complaints here! I use it for both writing and gaming with no issues.

Honestly I am disappointed. The design is no less than awesome, the material quality is excellent, but the switches are horrible. The clickiness of the switches is very inconsistent: most larger keys (Shift, Ctrl, Enter, Space) are satisfactory, however most smaller keys (numbers, letters, etc) exhibit various different degrees of clickiness, from clicky enough to not clicky at all. The general feeling is of a combination between a mechanical keyboard and a cheap no-name brand non-mechanical keyboard. I really wanted to use the keyboard on a daily basis but it's impossible. I recommend against buying it. I will keep it for my steampunk build but it will only be meant to sit there and look pretty. That's all I could use it for. Disappointing indeed...

Love the keyboard, keys and look. However I am having issues with the bluetooth connection. I can only pair it with one device. meaning whenever I want to use my keyboard with another pc/phone/laptop I have to redo the pairing. And by redo the pairing, I mean that I have to unpair it, then search for it and connect it again. Does anyone have the same issue? Usually with bluetooth devices, I can just disconnect them from one laptop and connect it again to another. without having to clear and redo the pairing. Edit: received confirmation from their support, the bluetooth keyboard can only PAIR with one device at the time. which means every time you want to use it with another device then back, you need unpair to remove it from the list then do a pair again. Removing one more star... for that price the least this keyboard could do is properly support bluetooth.

The cable on the non-bluetooth model is not detachable. Totally misled by the pictures which show the keyboard without a cable. Very disappointed as I can't display this with the rest of my keyboards without the cord getting in the way.

  • Would have been nice if they offered a 2nd (buyer-selectable) language on the key-caps.
  • The "mechanical feel" isn't as satisfying as I was hoping for.
  • Would have been nice to have a dedicated Sleep button for the PC.
  • The back feet need more height adjustment.
  • The shiny frame in the Onyx is a fingerprint magnet. A matte finish would have been much better.

I got the Walnut with black trim. Very solid keyboard. I like the clicky switches to add to the typewriter look and feel. Even the packing was quality.
