A lot of Mech Keys brands have tried their hands at the “vintage” look—whether channeling an old school console PC or, like the Azio does in their Retro Keyboard here, a legit typewriter. What makes this attempt extra special, however, is that it comes with a whole bundle of matching extras—including a leather wrist rest and keychain. The leather theme is echoed in the keyboard itself, where high-quality Napa leather encircles much of the compact footprint. At the center of this same footprint is a set of circular keys that are supported by a unique set of Kailh-designed, Typelit mechanical switches. These provide a clicky, tactile feel that’s quite reminiscent of the high-action stamp keys that this keyboard is paying homage to. Of course, it’s really just the look and vibe of this thing that’s old-school, because under the hood there’s a 5,000-milliamp-hour battery, Bluetooth connectivity, bright white backlighting for easy typing in the dark, and even full NKRO support for precise keystrokes. The best part? There’s no need to slide the ink bar back between lines.
