marvtabakIf you'd rather have it at $500 new right off the bat then resale value is already terrible. hard-to-find doesn't equate to value retention when watches have very limited distribution in the US. You need an active community of watch enthusiasts that are in tune with the watch.
At ~$800 I'd rather get a Seiko from the presage enamel dial line. Carl Bucherer has horological history but even storied brands don't hold much value these days-especially with ETA or Sellita calibers.
The market for dress watches takes a back seat to sport watches (divers, GMTs and chronos)-thus more heavily discounted.
This is not a criticism of this brand so much as it's more about buyer expectations. Buying nice watches under $1000 (without trying on) can often become value traps. You're better off buying a $5000 watch vs 5 $1000 watches.
Take some of my input with a grain of salt...If you've been eyeing this watch and don't intend to sell then it will bring lots of enjoyment.
However if you don't like the watch or just find you don't wear it enough and expected to recoup a good amount of the original price, you'll be sorely disappointed. I just unloaded 3 very good swiss dress watches (less than a year old ) and I wasn't happy taking the hit when I traded up to a sporty GMT.

vaelin99seems like a integrated chronograph based on ETA 2824-2 movement, since swatch stopped supplying ETA movement, so sellitta basically copied the movement but added the chrono module. so the guts are good, maintenance will be a bitch though.
