Use this as a range bag/hiking, really great for tossing stuff into a loose bag, sometimes you have to do some arranging. Some side pockets for small items, more comfortable that I thought without having padding.
I am an admitted CountyComm/Maratac JUNKIE. But this pack seems to have "jes grew" -- too many cooks or something. Zipper garages, water-resistant bottom, relatively water resistant nylon... and cotton interiors? open-top (cinch) closing?... it's a mess. One of the outside pockets won't really fit my hand if I have to dig around...
It LOOKS great, and as a dump-sack in DRY weather it works well. I gave mine as a gift to someone who fell in love with the looks of it.... I just thought, practically, I would use other bags for actually carrying.
Love all the pockets and the side access to the main section is very handy. Took this on a trip to Belize and it worked great as my carryon instead of a traditional backpack. Great construction. The top carry handles are a nice touch for when the backpack straps aren’t needed and the drawstring top was a good pickpocket deterrent. I’d buy this again. Highly recommend.
Not super impressed with the comfort. The straps are somewhat stiff and don't sit well on my neck and shoulders, especially if I've got a bunch of stuff in there. Especially bad when carrying heavy items. This is a major problem for me, since I bought it to use as a tool bag.
Also kinda goofy - it's waterproof, yet it's a top-loading stuffsack with no flap over the top. It's incredibly rainproof except for the hole on top.
This bag was very well-designed. Great size, materials feel bombproof, and the zippers/pockets everywhere are really well-placed and easy to access. This is my go-to day pack for pretty much everything - hiking, long days in the city, biking, you name it. My only complaint is that the straps are a little uncomfortable if I have a moderate amount of weight in it.
