I contacted Ball to find out what grade of titanium they used for this watch, and Ball replied that it is steel, not titanium.

Elhan@Drop if this is the case I’d like you to cancel my order and refund my money. In the description and specifications listed the case is quoted as being titanium.

GregnormanOn August 6, I got this response from Ball: "The Ducks Unlimited watch features the 316L steel." This morning, I got this response from Ball: "I hope you are well. I apologize for the delayed answer. Our engineer told me it is “grade 5”, which does not really say anything to me. I am hoping that since you asked, it means more to you and was helpful." Then, I found this site that says it is titanium: http://www.ballwatchusa.us/du_limited_edition. Thus, I apologize if I caused any confusion. I suspect it is titanium, and that the first Ball rep was completely clueless. Actually, the second Ball rep also seems clueless, but at least he knew enough to ask someone who did know. UPDATE When I told the second Ball rep what the first Ball rep told me, the second one apologized and assured me that it is titanium.

(I know I might be antagonizing some that are determined to die from exposure to bad information on tritium but I just can't help myself...) (okay, here goes...) Is there enough radiation from the tritium to roast the duck on the watch? If so, when will it be done? And when it's done, who will be making the gravy? (Okay, thank you all so much for your patience; I feel much better now.)

Does anyone know which grade of titanium Ball uses for this watch?

I'm still not sure how safe it is... If Tritium is passed through a glass it emits X-rays that have a very short length wave so even tho its not that strong is still carry the power to pass through skin ... and usually Tritium emits Beta rays that doesn't really carry the power to go through skin ... so Im not sure... maybe someone can clear it out ?

That’s a pretty slick watch but I can’t deal with the duck.

TragiqueDucks are frickin' DELICIOUS!!! I am HIGHLY RECOMMENDing the Duck!!!
Popping up from time to time, the Ducks seems to be a low demand piece. However, the price is good and it is a Ball.

JAZONGAre you going to Jerry’s World for the Labor Day weekend game between the Ducks and the Tigers? I am looking forward to seeing if Malzahn has finally found a quarterback to run his vaunted (?) offense. WDE!

Not a fan of Ball watches and not going to pursue this one either. However the duck looks awesome! I mean, how often do you see a duck on a dial? It's almost as if the watch belongs to a member of secret duck society... or to Duckman himself. So fun :)

Just not my cup o' tea, I guess. I understand that they are fine watches and can appreciate them in a "detached" manner but... like said, not a fan :)

I really wanted a Ball to ad to my collection and i missed one last time. This one was the perfect opportunity but ...yes that duck logo on front ruined it. So pitty. Duck...the word reminds me of the tv series of Duck Dynasty ...Yuck!!! PS Can a watchmaker if i take it too to clean that out? Or maybe order a new dial from Ball. Without the logo?
