Yes more Bark River please. A Bravo 1 field in linen micarta would be great, a Fox River, or a Scandi would be sweet.

holomorphThey have a huge variety of models, steels, & handle materials and they're excellent knives. I'm sure there are some slow movers in their own or their distributors inventories that could be moved. One complication with moving them on MD is the sheer variety of handle materials that necessitate different prices. If that could be figured out it sure would be a good way to get more BRK's into folks' hands.

Ogen_the_MaticBlack canvas micarta is normally among the LOWEST-priced handle options. There's not a lot to figure here. Pricing (low-to-high) is generally canvas micartas, linen micartas, multi-colored micartas and handles with contrasting liners, woods, exotic woods, and stag (especially Sambar). Bone, jigged bone, colored bone, exotic bone (e.g., giraffe), tusk, mammoth ivory, and horn are all over the map, depending on a number of factors. Pin detailing, etching & engraving, bolsters, metal treatments, etc. all add to the mix. A plain-Jane, A2 steel, black canvas knife is an in-stock basic. That's not to take away anything from the Gameskeeper, which is not only a terrific knife in its own right, but one of Bark River's earliest, most long-lived models, as well as being behind the design of the Bravo 1, probably their most well-known knife.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but you can find the Natural micarta for $186 plus free shipping. Which is the $5-10 range that the previous poster stated. https://www.knivesshipfree.com/bark-river-knives/gameskeeper/bark-river-knives-gameskeeper-natural-canvas-micarta/

Not a comment on the pricing but just to say that I currently have about a dozen BRK's (though not this model) and the build quality & value is superb. They also have an unparalleled 'no questions asked' policy on their blades & sheaths. MD hasn't done much of a job to show the details of this knife in my opinion. Check out KSF & DLT for far better photos. Photo included is of one of my BRK 'Esstentials'

Wouldn't this particular model be an excelllent choice for their often rumored venture into folding knives though?

First, I'm a Bark River fan and have quite a few of their knives. I even contacted my favorite vendor to participate in Massdrop, as the vendor's prices are quite good. So I loved seeing Bark River show up as a drop. I'm disappointed in the price, though. I can get within $5-$10 of this price all day long and with a large choice of handle materials (some, of course, are considerably more money, like stag or burls).

Thanks, that wasn't coming up in my top search results; we check all the usual places but it's hard to check every site for every product on every drop. Thanks for sharing, I will see if we can do any better on this.

KnivesShipFree.com
All knives ship free from this vendor. They are THE Bark River dealer in the US as they are right down the street from them. The company MOVED there to be near them, in fact.
Red Linen Micarta or Natural Canvas Micarta, either for $186.75. Goes up from there. (As it happens, Red Linen is my fav. handle color.) Immediate shipping. Returnable. You see the *exact* knife you get.
Like I said ... within $5 or $10.
