I don’t have these particular shoes, but I have a pair of their boots I’ve been very happy with. The standard is not quite up to makers like Carmina, but this seems like a decent enough deal if you want the shoe care kit, trees, etc.

tegeus-CromisHaving owned both, I would say Barkers far surpass Carmina in terms of quality. Both are great brands, however.

GarethJPriceIn general, British made shoes are sturdier. Having owned, Barkers, Loake and CJs. (:

tegeus-CromisI have two pairs of Barker boots, while the build quality is fine for th price I am not impressed with the leather. It is corrected grain and very stiff. I have Barker Caldera and Hopper. The hopper has the better upper leather but still seems to wrinkle too easily. he finish is starting to wear in the heel area and toes. The Cladera has very stiff unforgiving leather that after two years is still overly stiff. Also the heels started coming apart only after a few wears.

GarethJPricePerhaps I am not comparing like with like, as my Barkers are the rustic Lambourn boots whereas my Carminas are formal dress shoes.
