Baume & Mercier’s roots can be traced back to the Swiss Jura. Founded in 1830, the company quickly built a reputation for precise luxury watches. In fact, in 1892 it won the precision timing trials in the Kew Observatory with a tourbillon movement that remained unmatched for over a decade. The Capeland chronograph puts Baume & Mercier’s prowess in the spotlight. This ETA-Valjoux-powered automatic is highly capable, thanks to a 12-hour chronograph, tachymeter scale, and telemeter scale. Tucked between 4 and 5 o’clock is a date window, to boot. All of these features are encased in stainless steel with a sapphire crystal. Flip the watch around and you can admire the movement through the exhibition caseback.
