Delivered yesterday, 10 days before posted ship date. Kudos to DROP & vendor.
Bought the black strap version. Gotta say that it looks better in person than in the pics. My wrist is just under 8inches and imo, the 44 works out fine. The black+cream color scheme gives it a nice, classy look. And it's relatively subtle, even for a chrono. Can definitely be worn for semi-formal occasions without looking ostentatious.
I bought it for my nephew birthday as his first "real" watch to wear at less casual events.
He's 26 and working in his first legit, professional job. Figured this might be a better, dare I say "more impressive", option than the Apple Smart Watch he's been wearing the past couple of years. At least in professional & more formal settings.
The only complaint I have is the H, M, S mark. I like the design. I won't buy it only because too many 7750 watches.
It seems the color of subdials of two versions are different!?
Baume & Mercier can make some really pretty watches... but also comes up with fugly ones every now and then. I won't say in which category I place this one.
I actually really like the styling of this piece (by reviewing the comments I may be in the minority...). I think it has a nice retro feel to it without trying to be “antiqued”. I also really like the date “hidden” in the sub dial at 9. That’s a neat touch to me.
7750 is a great movement, I have a few and by my experience they are very robust and workhorses. I wish the case diameter on this watch was 2-3mm smaller and I would seriously consider jumping in. 44 just doesn’t wear well on me.
Really! I'm dumbfounded at the choices that drop makes. They're trying really hard to find this "stuff". If they go out of business then it's because that is their business goal.
fishstickxxxWhen you put the Tag and B&M side by side you'll change your mind.
The new Tag 01/02 models are done quite well, the carreras not so much. B&M is vastly better in quality from a finishing perspective.
