Needs text descriptions along with the pictures. Model 16501 has a forest green strap on Bertucci's website, but it looks very different here and is more like Desert Tan in the picture. None of the watches on Bertucci's site have a DT strap and an all black case. Now I'm not sure if I just ordered a watch with a tan strap or a green strap...
This might be an interesting one to add to my tiny collection. Not today, though, as I just bought a watch and it wasn't my cheapest one to date (Ray, feel free to have fun with that wording). 40mm with those nicely angled lugs would probably wear well on my wrist.
Much ado going on below for a $79 watch!
Poor @FAautobahn is all upset about what he feels is a "grotesque" logo--but evidently all the guys who actually design watches for a living (and have their own watch factory to make them), see it otherwise.
Other folks are giving MD's copywriters grief about the viability of producing all-metal quartz crystals, even though @flaviov has explained how it can be easily done (out on Highway 61).
I would just like to remind you damn complainers, skeptics and republicans that MD has sold a bunch of these Bertuccis and I haven't heard any complaints or read any negative reviews. Bertucci has been around for a long time and frankly, it's not too challenging to build a decent, inexpensive quartz watch in this day and age. It's only gonna be eighty-some bucks with tax, so it's not as though you're risking a lot here.
Be brave, confront your fears, get over your logo issues, and buy yourself a fairly inconspicuous, rather pedestrian, damn near disposable watch--you won't be disappointed ;- )
RayFI could possibly give it a positive review....if only it would just arrive @ my front door already.
Apparently shipped a month ago...taking it’s ‘time’ (did u see what I did there)?
Guys,
If anyone who owns this watch or knows - does the leather strap version also have "Bertucci" inscribed on the bottom right lug? Wish the designer did not go for this overkill. Very much like the watch's look except for this grotesque and unnecessary repeat of "Bertucci" on watch's lug.
I got one of these on drop if I recall correctly. Decent watch. Keeps time, lightweight. Strap is nice. Haven’t put it though anything tough but seems to be holding up well through the 20 or so times I’ve worn it.
I think by all metal they just use metal instead of cheap plastic most quartz movements are made from. Not sure how much difference it makes.
BeastMDTheoretically, it means the movement can be serviced and will last a while. Seiko’s first quartz analog chronograph movement (7A28 + 7A38) from the early 80s is the first example that comes to mind. It’s basically bombproof by quartz standards.
Guys, I have done some research on this one. I am fairly confident in my claims. But please take what I say with a grain of salt.
I believe this to be a watch.
That said, how does one have an 'all-metal' quartz movement? Is can quartz be metal? (this is a joke)
TwentySixAndIt is possible that they transmutated the Si and O in quartz using a particle accelerator and added a few more protons to them, to turn them into highly unstable metals....
TwentySixAndThe "all metal" part is most likely referring to the plate. You often see plastic plates in quartz movements at this price point, but full metal quartz movements do exist. But I think you're just being facetious here, as I assume you full on well know that the "quartz movement" description is only describing a quartz pulse movement, and not the entire composition of the movement parts.
