Discountcutlery.net has this in blue for $15 more. Free S&H. Their price on other colors is a bit over $190. I love Bestech knives. I agree that the Swordfish might be the best out there. I have Kavik to thank for talking me into purchasing the Swordfish. I couldn't imagine one being better than the Paladin. That was my first Bestech. I haven't looked back except when my VISA bill clouded my vision.
14themoneyPeople in the USA like to forget about people in other countries. We don't have good alternatives for places with competitive pricing. The first two sites I found for Canadian sellers for this same knife in blue are at $320+shipping and taxes (CAD). Massdrop has it at $149 + $4 shipping (USD, presumably taxes on delivery or you drop ship it). The site you mentioned would charge ~$18 for shipping to Canada which comes up to $181 (USD with taxes on delivery) and not all sites ship to Canada. $153 USD would come out to less than $210 CAD.
I've noticed this with tons of the listings on Massdrop where people crap on Massdrop. I appreciate that you just posted the alternative with a review which is usually what I come here for. Just saying in general it's a frustration I've had with the comments on Massdrop.
The brother of this knife (cheaper D2 version) is one of my favorite Bestech's to carry. The action and balance of the knife is great. Between this one and Bestech Swordfish, I'd go with the Swordfish (depending on how stabby you like your knives).
Not sure I can choke down the extra $100 for S35VN and titanium scales...but I may...or I may wait another year till it drops.
BlankmanAgreed, I have had the D2 version in my pocket for the last year or so, it's very practical (though the tanto-esque point requires some extra sharpening work).
Mike45acpIt always says on sale at BladeHQ, at least you can return it at BladeHQ if it is not to your liking. I have purchased many knives that appear great and do not like them when I get them in hand. Some people such as myself like that having the option to return. I have many of Drop.com knives that I am very pleased with. For me this just isn't a great deal.
A really awesome knife! If you look at my comment history I'm not at all shy about leaving negative comments if I feel MD deserves it or needs to hear it. This knife gets all positive comments from me though! Very well made! Good materials! QC is excellent! I can really think of no negatives for a knife in this price range! Speaking of price, MD even got that right as this price is probably 30$ cheaper than most places I've seen! The only negative I can think of is (I gotta leave something negative) only 2 color choices! They usually have 4!! 😂
