Just got mine in the mail... first impression- is very positive! It's well made, fit and finish is excellent. Lockup is very nice. flip is nice... a bit stiff but that's normal out of the box. Over all, I got to say I'm very pleased .

NealPGot mine just now too, and I agree, overall seems like a quality knife:
Dead-on-center Good detent Great action (free dropper) Handle is as sexy as the photos (more of a deep gold / bronze than I expected, but I like it alot)
That said, I have two things I don't quite like:
The blade has either been coated, or acid washed, or bead blasted, so it looks gray. I'm not a fan of the gray; makes it look a bit cheap in my opinion. Frankly the blade looks almost identical to the bead blasting on my Kershaw Select Fire (a $25 knife).
Also, mine states "First production 150/150" but the drop advertised a far more exclusive first production of 50 for the gold knife and 80 for the blue knife (I bought the gold). I've contacted MassDrop for assistance / compensation for the error.

demodojI went with gray. Number on blade is 030/150... I know I'm not any good at math so I have no idea where the 150 number comes from. I'm going to knock it up to a bad description, because the picture of the blade shows the 150 number.

As you can see mine is 143/150.Looks good enough but dont try to dissassemble as you will encounter red loctite and free spinning pivot. The rolling detent ball makes is so fall shut. It is bead blasted and the edge out of the box is pretty dull by my standards.I noticed that they put some grease on the caged ceramic bearings which is good but,its not good that it dried up and made it less smooth

StoeVVNot good. Definitely going to be a neat nick-nack (bit too cheap to be a 'case queen') since it essentially can't be serviced. I would've been quite happy to hear about the bearings... but being unable to service a knife with bearings is definitely an issue!
Why was the pivot free spinning?

demodojWell the pivot screw is not secured like alot of knives by a 'D' shaped end like this one

And also they RED loctited every screw and all of them have shitty threads which will probably strip making them even more useless.Servicing this knife is a pain and very time consuming.

StoeVVYeah, that's knife making 101... including a way to ensure that the pivot can be properly adjusted (usually via a D-shaped pivot nut).
Thanks for the feedback, but it leaves me a bit confused. If there's nothing stopping the pivot from free spinning, how the heck did they tighten it in the first place? Was it glued in?

demodojWell i guess the same way i did.Pushing the blade to one side so it creates pressure and stops it from spinning but easier said than done. The knife is good enough for First production. When they fix the screws and the pivot, this knife will be a Gem
