is anyone else having trouble with the quick release mechanism? i followed the instructions of twisting it right and pushing to put it back on and it seems to have damaged my spring. I'm actually having a lot more luck twisting it in the opposite direction of the instructions. thanks.

To be honest the instruction isn't exactly clear because it doesn't state the twist motion is for the flashlight's body only and not the QR connector. I can tell you from experience you have to twist the body like you would to loosen the head. To loosen the QR you Twist the flashlight's body the same direction as you would to loosen the head.
