I learned years ago that criticism is a good thing. It can make you better at your craft.
So when I say these look like they would've been at home in my grandmother's decor, that should give you an idea of how dated these appear. My grandmother has been dead for 10 years... and she was over 90.
So yeah. Get it together, design.
Would the $8 just be in materials? Or would it include a labour cost too? I might have a go at making something like this after I finish the speaker stands I'm working on.
SmithyNZ$8 would just be materials—not including labor. You might could do it for near to free if woodshops let you pick up scrap wood. Should be a pretty easy product to manufacture.
It looks like the wood rings are made of zebrawood, which is only used for LCD-3. Furthermore, the connector housing is chrome metal typical of LCD-3's versus the plastic housing used for mid-LCD-2.2's and onwards. As to whether they're fazzored or pre-fazzor LCD-3's, who knows. AFAIK, the fazzor array was introduced into the LCD-3 line before Audeze sold them with the newer style headbands with the comfort strap.
I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but these look very much like the kind of projects I used to whip up in Seventh Grade Wood Shop Class*.
