Are these Tesla driven headphones neutral sounding ? Compare to a dt880
Got to test them with a Marantz HD-Amp1. I have to say, the sound is flawless. They're incredible, very very light, not tight at all (frankly felt slightly too loose for my liking) and they sound more on the warmer side, have a nice bass but not as strong as the DT 1990 Pros, and also sounded softer. I got to compare them to the DT 1990 Pros which I ended up picking over these, but frankly this are a great product, just check for prices online
I have a pair of these on right now, with 1990's showing up some time today. I really hope I prefer the Amirons, since I got them for $400. The best way I can describe the Amirons to people is that they're a more refined Fidelio X2, other than the sibilance that the Amirons have.
Just gonna say I liked them both on the Marantz. Ended up getting the 1990s because I had a lower budget (cost me 430 euro minus tax refund so about 380 in store vs 550 for the Amiron), but I don't regret a thing
Listening to them on the THX AAA 789, the bass is tighter on the 1990, the Amiron is boomier, kick drums are less defined. But the Amiron is much more comfortable, not sure if the 1990's are $100 better.
Edit: Symbols sound better, more texture...it makes the Amirons sound veiled like the HD6XX.
This has been my favorite headphone of 2 years. It's a perfect all-rounder, never fatigues.
Similar to the 880 but more detail and definitely more bass presence. I'm using the 880 right now as it's my other frequently used headphone along with this.... I love them both. Amiron is frigging great though minus it's 1 cable they give you, annoying and rubbery and long, it feels a bit cheap.
