Like the DT990 and DT880 drops, this is a phenomenal pair of headphones. But, after tax and shipping, is not that amazing a deal, since they go cheaper on Amazon. For quality, one of the best closed backs, for dubstep/electronic, it has little competition. It is incredibly comfortable, incredibly relaxing with rich low end, without being thunderous, they are indeed as people describe them, sub-bass kings. The resonance and minor echo the "80s bus terminal seats plastic" provide from its material and shape is unique and has a great way of reproducing sound in an isolated chamber. There are other options for high end detail, but for bass and sub-bass that retains quality mid range, and decent treble, these are a winner.
JJDeviloperThere is a wealth of posts and disgruntled users that have clearly stated that they abandoned this headphone for the sole reason of thumping, overwhelming bass. When listening to the music that is already bass-heavy, it would make sense to assume that one would want to hear it as it is, not further bass-enhanced.
